About Texas Landscape Lights

We design and install custom low-voltage LED landscape lighting for Texas homes. Every system starts with listening and ends with fine-tuning after dark.

Lighting that fits the house, not the catalog

Texas Landscape Lights designs, installs, repairs and upgrades custom low-voltage LED landscape lighting for homeowners across Texas, along with select commercial properties. We are a design-led company. That means the plan comes before the product, and every fixture has a job to do.

Good landscape lighting should feel like the house was always meant to look that way at night. It should make your front walk safe, your trees dramatic and your patio usable, without turning the yard into a parking lot. Getting there takes more than a box of fixtures. It takes a point of view.

01

Listen first

Before we talk fixtures, we ask how you use the property. Where do guests park? Which windows face the yard? Do you entertain out back or mostly want curb appeal? The answers shape the whole design.

02

Light with restraint

More light is rarely better light. We aim for contrast, soft edges and warm color so the architecture and landscape read clearly, with no glare in your eyes or your neighbor's windows.

03

Plan for Texas weather

Heat, UV, hail, flash floods, clay soil and hard freezes all test outdoor equipment. We specify materials, connections and placement with those conditions in mind from day one.

04

Respect the landscape

We route wire around root zones, keep fixtures tucked into beds and plan for plants that will grow. The goal is a system you see the effect of, not the hardware.

05

Finish after dark

A design is not done until we have seen it at night. Every install ends with an after-dark visit to adjust aim, brightness and timing so the result matches the plan.

06

Explain everything

You get a written proposal, a clear scope and plain answers. If something is better handled by an electrician or another trade, we tell you.

Why Texas properties need a different approach

Texas is not one climate or one style of home. A lighting plan that works in one region can fail in another, so we design for where you live.

  • Gulf Coast and Houston area: humidity, salt air near the coast and heavy rain call for corrosion-resistant fixtures and well-sealed connections. See our Houston page.
  • North Texas: hail, ice storms and expansive clay soil put stress on fixtures and wire runs in places like Dallas and Fort Worth.
  • Central Texas and the Hill Country: limestone, shallow rock and live oaks shape how we trench, mount and uplight around Austin and San Antonio.
  • South Texas: long dry spells followed by sudden downpours mean drainage and fixture placement matter as much as the fixtures themselves.
  • Everywhere: long, intense summers mean heat and UV resistance are not optional.

Style varies by region too. Hill Country homes lean on stone and big oaks, coastal homes sit up on piers with palms around them, and suburban neighborhoods mix brick, stucco and modern farmhouse builds on the same street. We design for the house in front of us, not a template. Browse lighting ideas by home style for examples.

What we install

Every system we build is 12V low-voltage LED. Low voltage is safer around people, pets and irrigation, easier to adjust as your landscape grows, and far more efficient than old halogen systems. Learn more about the tradeoffs in our guide to the best landscape lighting for Texas heat.

We favor quality fixtures with solid brass, copper or marine-grade bodies, sealed optics and replaceable or serviceable LED components. Cheap fixtures save money for a season. Good ones are built to hold their aim, finish and light output for years. We pair them with properly sized transformers, direct-burial wire and waterproof connections, plus timers or smart controls so the system runs itself.

We also think about the long run. Wire runs are sized so voltage stays even from the first fixture to the last, transformers have room for future additions, and fixtures are placed so they can be reached, cleaned and re-aimed as trees and shrubs mature. Our work covers the full range of outdoor lighting:

Who we serve

Most of our clients are homeowners who want their property to look as good at night as it does during the day. Some are building new and want lighting planned alongside the landscape. Others have an older system that flickers, fails or simply looks dated. Many just want a safer walk from the driveway to the front door.

We also work with select commercial properties, including HOA entrances, small office buildings and retail frontages, through our commercial landscape lighting service.

We serve communities across Texas, from Houston and the Gulf Coast to Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio and the suburbs in between. Check our service areas to find your city.

How we work with you

Every project follows the same path: a conversation, a night walkthrough with a live demo, a custom plan, a written proposal, a clean installation and an after-dark fine-tuning visit. You can read the details on our process page, or browse lighting ideas for Texas homes to see what might suit yours.

FAQ

Questions & answers

Do you only work on homes?

Most of our work is residential, but we also take on select commercial properties such as small office buildings, HOA entrances and retail frontages.

Do you handle the electrical work?

The lighting system itself is 12V low-voltage, which we design and install. If you need a new outdoor outlet or circuit, that line-voltage work is handled by a licensed electrician.

Can you work with lighting I already have?

Often, yes. We can evaluate an existing system, reuse sound wiring or fixtures where it makes sense, and convert older halogen setups to LED.

Is the consultation really free?

Yes. The consultation and night demo are free, and you get a written proposal before any work begins, with no obligation to move forward.
